An extension to Canneto Boverio
A previous post https://www.lipu-uk.org/a-jewel-of-an-oasis/ explained the partnership between LIPU and Burchvif in the creation of a small but wonderful oasis in the midst of a rice growing area – the reserve called Canneto Boverio.
We are thrilled to find that Burchvif have gained a small area on the other side of the Agogna river which makes a superb extension to the existing reserve – Lanchetta Michela. The British section, LIPU-UK, has agreed to provide funding to help with the planting of native trees and shrubs to make the area totally natural.
The necessary earth moving work had started but with the new agreement in place it is now moving with an increased urgency and confidence, as can be seen in these pictures sent by Gian Battista Montarino, head of the Burchvif Environment Group.
