Pine Grosbeak

The snow had just cleared enough for my hire car to get into Eagle Valley in April 1992 but the 4wd trucks had been in for a while and the feeding stations were well stocked. It was quite easy to wait near the feeders and photograph this male Pine Grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator). It was happily feeding with a female and chickadees and Pine Siskins before a visitor's dog scared all of us away...
