Texel, the island jewel of the Dutch Friesian chain is a favourite place of mine. In 1992 I returned, with friends, and had a wonderful week watching birds.
At Wall en Burg this Black-tailed Godwit was defending his territory against all comers and that included me!
However, his behaviour was perfect to achieve this picture of the bird out in the open.
