Black Stork (Ciconia nigra) I returned to the Greek island of Lesvos in 1999 and found that the island had changed quite a lot in the six years since my last visit. The birds, however, were still as spectacular as ever and as we drove along the road near Achladeri I glanced down at a pool and saw this beautiful stork. We stopped and turned to have a better look and take this photograph in the late afternoon sun.
