Sandhill
Crane
(Grus
canadensis)
A business trip to
Seattle in the state of Washington is always a good opportunity for some
excellent birdwatching. In December 1997 I was with a friend as we moved
north along the coast into Canada and to the Reifel bird refuge.
To our surprise this crane came out of the
reed bed and I found myself embarrassed by having an 840mm lens on the
camera. I hurriedly backed away and tried to get this shot without
including other bird watchers who were using shorter lenses much closer
to the bird. |
